It's flipped, rather than the right-to-left I prefer, but apparently Tatsumi actually helped with these changes to make sure they were done right. This thing is GORE-GEE-OUS! The book is bound nicely and the panels and printing look really smooth. In most cases they were minor things, not adding in the “he said/asked” it was always after he male narrator would speak and assumed it was for flow reasons and wasn’t something that bothered me, but then they also left a whole paragraph of Oras thoughts as well. I have no issues with the voice actors but while listening, I go to my kindle and highlight quotes I enjoy and in doing so i noticed that the narrators have left out words here and there. My only gripe is with the editing of the narration team. more than anything it made me want to take a road trip to CO and witness the beauty described in the book during her hikes. They characters are easily relatable and I always love a grumpy/sunshine dynamic. This book was charming and cute and had me marking quotes that hit close to home for me. He's just about surviving, so long as he only takes his beloved plane for short journeys, and saves his remaining fuel. Civilisation is a very fragile construct that could break with a few key occurrences - I’ve always wondered what would happen and in the UK, over the last few years, there was a mini petrol and bread shortage and the behaviour of the populace in general (stockpiling) showed how worryingly thin the line between chaos and order actually is. I find that the dark themes explored in the genre frighten me a great deal, and this leads to great fascination in how the survivors will cope with their situation.
